My System: Beta Receiver from Fortec Star with 65cm Dish.
Please Help Me Regarding Beta Receiver from Fortec Star

Hi all,

i got a fortect star package which is satellite dish 65cm and fortec star beta receiver.and my location is london(UK).i installed successfully and iam getting good signal and quality..but the channels most of them getting are paid channels which are showing with $ symbol and also iam getting like totally 800 channels though Astra 2D 28.2E and most of them are looks like paid channels and the receiver i got which doesn't have any smartcard/CI feature. so please help to get those channels and iam not able to see how to pay them to get those channles and the receiver got only serial interface to connect to computer to upgrade the firmware adn uploader.

My System: Triple Dragon with HDD/USB stick, Dreambox 8000, Humax HDCI2000, Echostar AD3000ip & SR8700, Aston Simba, RSD ODM300. Swedish Microwave 1.2 Motorised dish / Invacom C120 twin LNB driven by the AD3000. 3 other fixed dishes.

Hi Raj, welcome to the forum.

You will only be able to watch the FTA channels on 28.2E. There's no way of watching anything else on that satellite with your receiver.

If you are able to point your dish to other satellites e.g Hotbird 13E and Astra 19E, there may be a patch for the Fortec available to clear some encrypted channels on those satellites.

Try _www.al7bar-soft1.com for any info on this subject.

Thanks alottttttttttttttttt bro.....one more thing if you can help...iam not at all getting the normal bbc channels through 28.2E and also if i buy another receiver which got CI or Smart Card access can i get pay channels using any patch for the card? in that case please reccomend me a good receiver bro....

Shouldn't be having any problems with the BBC channels. Don't know your receiver - try scanning the BBC channel TP's individually.

The Technomate boxes are very popular with people on this forum. Searching this site for technomate+patch should give you some info.

If you want Sky UK you buy a subscription to it. Its the only way, theres no chance of getting any patches to open it on any receiver..

Thanks alottt for your information bro...i have gone through that website and uploaded the firmware and iam getting some popular channels including my regional channels..thanks alot once again...i dont want to get all of them..but iam so hapy now witho those main channels....cheers bro....i confused when i was installing the firmware to beta but later i have gone through the steps properly and i changed Xcrypt to ON and finally i got some...i can help other guys now regarding any fortec receiver i beleive...cheers.

yeah...i got you...iam receving some sky channels through hotbird but still they are scrambled any way i think sky never permits these kind of patches i beleive...and also i will try to get normal FTA channels like BBC,ITV...thanks for ur info bro...

Thats Sky Italy. Sky are just protecting their revenue streams by using secure encryptions.
