That was also my first thought. Since above Ku-Band is meant i suppose some non-technician mixed up downlink with uplink frequencies.

Does this mean that only 40 (52-12) transponders will be in a European beam? The satellite will have 52 Ku-band transponders.

My System: Covering 30W-105.5E range, two motors, C and Ku band. Various receivers/cards/cams/etc.

that freq. is used for VSAT needs.

Thanks for clarification. Now I understood that there would be 12 additional 14 GHz transponder for uplink and some 11 GHz transponders for VSAT downlink. Am I right?

Astra 3B will have 40 transponders in the European beam and 12 transponders (probably for the VSAT and EU-ME interconnection needs) in the Middle East beam.
