Rascom 1 is due for launch in late 2007. It will offer communications into Africa. It carries a Ku band payload with noth and south Africa regional spotbeams, and a pan continental C-band payload. She is due to slot at 2.8E after launch

She was expected to have a bit over 2 years useful life left in her when she made it to geostationary orbit..
