Cool Rascom 1 2.8E

Rascom 1 is due for launch in late 2007. It will offer communications into Africa. It carries a Ku band payload with noth and south Africa regional spotbeams, and a pan continental C-band payload.

She is due to slot at 2.8E after launch

Sadly Rascom 1 suffered technical problems (a helium leak) shortly after launch and is currently stranded in the wrong orbit

It looks very unlikely she will make it to geostationary orbit.

Update - Rascom 1 made it to 2.8E but used up about 80% of the onboard fuel to get there. She was expected to have a bit over 2 years useful life left in her when she made it to geostationary orbit..
