Smile Pak-sat 1 38E

Pak-sat has a fascinating history. This satellite was orignially known as Palapa C1, and and served Indonesia. After an electronics failure, she was retired from service before being leased to Turkey and renamed Anatolia 1 to operated at 50E. Once the 50E mission ended, she was renamed again to Pak-sat 1 for operation at 38E.

I noted a Ku band analogue colour bar test card off her whilst at 50E in Spring 2001!

Although there are 2 C- band and 2 Ku band footprints available as far as I know she only operates in C-band nowadays. All 4 footprints are listed for the sake of completeness. The first 2 pics are the C-band coverage area.
