W1 satellite provides a fixed Widebeam coverage encompassing Europe, the Atlantic Islands, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. The Steerable coverage is used to address new markets in geographical areas lying outside of the Widebeam coverage area and according to official information currently points at southern Africa. W1 is due for retirement from 10E in the next 2-3 years. The third pic is an old version of the steerable map.
