Asiasat 5 is due for launch this evening (August 11th) She will be replacing Asiasat 2 at 100.5E. She carries 4 separate payloads 1) the South Asia Ku band beam which covers Saudi Arabia and India. 2) the East Asia Ku band beam which covers China and parts of northern India 3) a Ku band steerable beam which can be targetted as required 4) a C-band payload which covers most of Russia & as far south as Australia. | ||
