Maxpeak SAM sensitivity issues.

I have a Maxpeak SAM which I find somewhat insensitive eg poor response to signals from Atlantic Bird 3,Has anyone else had a similar experience ?

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

That satellite should be very strong in your area and any meter should show strong signal readings, particularly the super beam, what do you mean by poor response?

Agreed , and when I have it aligned on my motorised dish the Signal level indications on the STB are good. But on the SAM it is difficult even to get a response. Yet on ASTRA's 1 &2 and HB the indicated levels peak at 100% .The integrated power o/p on the later satellites are of course high, compared to AB3 ,since there are many more transponders on each of them than on AB3 . Perhaps thats the reason? T1154

If these meters work on preset transponder frequencies, make sure that it is using a valid frequency for the wide or super beam.
