My System: MaxPeak SAM
MaxPeak SAM shows V Low quality

I have bought a MaxPeak SAM alignment meter.

My home sky box and my neighbours both show a 80-90% level for both signal and quality when using the sky boxes signal test page.

The new meter I am testing gives a 70-80db signal strength, but only a very low 5% quality, and even lossing this and dropping the lock.

I very much doubt both mine and my neighbours dishes are miss aligned, especially as I have no issues with reception. I use a Zone 2 dish down here in devon.

Anyone had any issues with these relatively unknown meters?

Thanks in advance.

Martin.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Not familiar with it - can you Post up some Piccies?

Is it properly and securely connected?

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Have you set it on the correct satellite, Astra 28.2 and not Astra 19.2?

Yep, defo on 28.2 - it works better on the V than the H polarisation.

I have tried it on 3 different installs so far, directly to the coax at the digibox.

I have also tried directly to a dish today, and the quality is higher at around 25-30%, but I must admit I was expecting it to match the sky digibox's signal page.

What sort of readings would you expect on a pro meter?
