Lacuna meter battery

Hi

I've just bought Lacuna Satellite meter on Ebay.

The seller reckons it would benefit from a new battery - which in Ebay speak means it’s absolutely had it!

Anyone know what sort it is, is it a generic type battery or is it special to type?

Outside of the manufacturer, where can I get replacements and how much do I expect to pay?

Cheers

Nick

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

I think that it may be a purpose made battery pack, comprising of several (probably 8) AA batteries connected together, the Premier meter battery pack certainly is.

Alltrade do a fixed price service on the units and this includes a battery pack, don't know how much it would be separately though.

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

Thanks for the info remlap but the post is nearly 3 years old! I would think that the problem is solved by now.

Still, information is never wasted.

My System: Technomate TM6900 HD Receiver, 85cm Gilbertini dish with Technomate TM2200 motor, Diablo Light and T Rex 4.6 cams.

Just for the record, I bought a new Lacuna meter recently on Ebay and after charging for the first time, it only operated for about 20min. I could have assumed it had a duff battery, but after about 10 charge/discharge cycles, it now operates for over 3 hours which is up to spec.

Yes I bought some new rechargable batteries and wrapped them together with good old insulation tape and soldered the correct links between them and Bobs your Auntie good as new. You will need a good soldering iron as the batteries dissipate the heat.

Good luck
