Question SATLOOK Micro +

Hi ppl , wondering if anybody has used SATLOOK Micro + Instrument which is used for alignment and adjustment of satellite-dishes . In the Owners Manual leaflet they do not mention a lot about calibrating the instrument at the Functions section ( A. Connection and installing a satellite dish -Signalmeter mode . ) . Is there a fully detailed instruction manual for this device or any web sites dealing with this instrument .

Any thought you would have be greatly appreciated .

Best Regards

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

You shouldn't need to calibrate the meter, I use the Digital NIT and it is a superb tool, you can download anything available from www.emitor.se

Thanks rolfw for reply

I download the owners manual from the web site you provided and I found it is a bit different from the manual which comes in the cardoard box of my Satlook Micro + unit . They add in the new manual the following : -

1 - Matching Function - New

To be use for easy to align the satellite dish towards the particual satellite you are looking for . In my unit at the signalmeter-mode it shows the following :-
In my unit

Digital
Sat ID
13/18v
22KHz
Beeper
Atten
Handhold
Diseqc
Setup

In the new Manual
Digital
SatID
Matching
13/18v
22KHz
Beeper
Atten
Handhold
Diseqc
Setup

When I look at my unit at the signalmeter-mode the word "Matching " not therer in the signalmeter-mode . Therefore if it is not there I can not use this function which very important function for me . So how do you explain this differences , how can I get it in my unit ?

waiting for your reply

Best regards

Have you looked to see if there is a software upgrade on the site, I did my NIT a few months back.

I've just upgraded Micro+ firmware with Micro G2 EU282 firmware and interrogation of menu shows it has taken OK.
But I have not found the Spectrum display - does anyone know please if this is or is not available on the old Micro+ with the new firmware ?
Unless I am going wrong somewhere it looks like answer is "not!"

Hello mate

The firmware you installed was locked, I am still looking for the unlocked firmware. I had contacted the emitor but no reply. HISAT did not had the unpgrade kit in stock yet....if you happened to get one can you please let me know.

I think in the upgrade kit it came with the software and an unlocking code. Then using the software to unlock the firmware like we install the software in the PC.

Thanks for the responses chaps!

I am a bit of a dimbo when it comes to the techie side but I am relieved I didnt screw things up.

I will indeed post if I drop across any unlocked f/w - or the means to unlock what we have got - nice to know we are not alone!

Ya...with this price can get a old satlook speccy from Ebay. The satlook upgrage kit had included the cost of the carrying case. If just buying the full unlock version online will be cheaper but did not see that happened yet.

on the satlook micro can you add tps for it recognise when aligning dishes or does it just give you the nit of the satellite ?

as looking to get one as this horizon meter is ok i got cheap but it doesn't do that just tells whether your locked on the satellite

I am still looking for a bargain for the unlocked firmware. I wish Emitor will sell just the unlocked version at affordable price.

With the price sold at the shop are expensive, might as well buy a Trimax 2500 which have the picture and spectrum all in one metre. However, not sure how well is the metre vs Satlook....
