Hi all, I'm considering 'upgrading' my present meters and am presently considering the Rover S2. I'm particularly interested in those who have used it in Climatic conditions such as Cyprus on 28.2 Low frequencies (BBC/ITV). How does it compare to the Satlook NIT? How good are the Batteries? How does the sun affect the display? Is it easy to use? Will it get a full lock on fringe satellites (VITERBI) to allow for fine tuning? A major drawback of the NIT!! My System: 3.0m Motorised Channel Master 4 fixed dish SKY_HD DM7020s Vsat Kathrein UFS-910 HD | Have seen but not used the Rover "scout".....Why dont you go for a more serious meter with spectrum analyser? I have seen some nice Unaohm's at the exhibition in Nicosia recently..If you want i can mail you the pdf they sent me with prices.. | ||

here is the link for the info: http://www.rovermeters.co.uk/pdf/sp/...nd%20Scout.pdf It lacks the LCD TV screen that the ST4 has got (MP Sat reckon the S2 is a good meter but say the ST4 is the only meter I will ever need!) My 2 present units are a Satlook NIT & a Lacuna Satmeter 2. The NIT is a decent enough meter, battery life is great and its simple to use. However it seems to be lacking when it comes to fine tuning the 28.2 Hor lows (I usually do this with a 2600!) also It's almost impossible to use when up a ladder - thats when the Lacuna comes good. Also the screen is a real pig in bright sunlight. The wieght of the S2 is a major factor as I want the spectrum ability without the wieght penalty of the NIT. I would be selling the Lacuna to part finance the S2 so it needs to be as easy as possible when used up ladders etc. I would like to think that it, being a modern meter is superior to the Satlook and will therefor be my first choice meter. Mpsat say they have shifted 15 of them recently and have had good reports back but I'd really like some more info first. The info you have on the Unaohms would be very handy, please send it through.
