Hi,

I use a Motek SG-2100 DiSEqC-rotor. They are simply installed between the receiver and the LNB. The power comes through the LNB-cable from the receiver, thus the limitation of dishes up to 100-120cm: for bigger ones, you need bigger motors, but receiver's cannot provide enough power.

I have many cables because I use Quadro-LNB's. Each connector on the LNB has a single band (V-L, H-L, V-H and H-H). Those cable go into the multiswitch.

The truth is that I am completly mad for not having installed more cables from the roof to the basement: I have only 9 cables, because I planned to put the multiswitch on the roof. After the third broke due to heat, cold, sun and humidity, I put the multiswitch in the basement. Now I can only use 9 bands (4x Astra, 4x Hotbird and 1x Hispasat), instead of 4 complete satellites. The 9 cables where for my 8 rooms and 1 for terrestrial.

When the weather get's better and I have some money, I will build a proper space for the multiswitch on the roof.

Cheers,
vma
