Blaze HD DVT frequency issue

Hi I recently bough a pc Sat Tuner with Blaze HD player included in the bundle. My setup is 60cm dish with 2 LNBS one at Astra 2 & Eurobird the other at Astra 1. The problem is that on Astra 1 I cannot get any channels above 11954 MHZ yet below this all channels are clear with signal varying from 59 -80%.

Does anyone know if this a software bug or my dish set up?

Astra 2 and Eurobird work perfectly all channels.

Hello welcome to the forum gaz2373

How are you feeding in the two cables from 2 lnbs, do you have a diseqc switch installed?
Also the lnb that is on Astra 1 is is that a new lnb or an old one? if it is an old one it is probably the old type which could not reach those frequencies without a special frequency shifter.

Well

Have you got a DECT phone nearby as often they can interfere and block certain frequencies

Also is the lnb set for universal within the pc satcard setup?

Well

LOF stands for local oscillator frequency so you are in the right place to set parameters but I think you must set your lnb to universal. I have never had a pccard sat tuner so not 100% on how this is done perhaps someone else will clarify that point.

What channel is it you are trying to get? as there are shed loads up there, why not tell us what you can get! That may shed some light on the matter

thanks for your reply. I can get all channels down to 11895 v Cannal sat France well the Free ones, the rest show up but are encrypted. I have also noticed that the Signal strength is 68 quality 82 but on any transponder above 11895V the strength remains the same but quality drops to 8%. I will try some adjustments but it seems like a massive drop on quality.

Yes

Well even new lnb's are sometimes faulty and they are not expensive really, I do think though that this is down to fine tuning, how much skew do you have on the lnb?
The reason I thing it is setup is because the frequency you quote is where 1G ends and 1H begins, as the satellites are only co-located your setup is probably off a very small amount but enough to show a signal quality distinction between the two birds, at the end of the day you are using a 60cm dish in the middle of winter with a high moisture and cloud content in the atmosphere

Problem Solved

After playing around for a few weeks with my setup I have discovered that it was the high band range I was unable to recieve. The LNB I have needs a constant 22KHZ tone to switch to Hi Band and pick up the channels above 12000Mhz.

In order to fix the issue I in Blaze I set the LNB Switch type (eventhough there is just 1 LNB) to 22KHZ the 1st LNB lof1 9750 Mhz lof2 10600 Mhz, the second lnb (with the tone at 22khz) to Lof1 10600 lof2 leave blank.

I can now get all channels on hotbird 13E and Astra 19.2E the only issue being to remeber to swap LNBs to 1 to scan for the low band channels and 2 for hi band.
