compro dvb-s 350

i got this card today hoping to watch abit of HD on bbc, but for the life of me i cant get the hd channels. i have powerdvd 8 installed and i can play quite happily hd on wmp as well, but im buggerd if i can can the compro software to see hd channels , i can with dvbdream, but cant watch them no picture.
Has any one found any way of getting hd through the software supplied with this card or give me some advice

Hi

There could be two problems:

1. You are trying to access DVB-S2 signals with a DVB-S card

2. You dont have the correct codecs in place.

Click Options->Video . Select the appropriate codec in H.264 codec section. I will recommend to use Core AVC as they are the fastest HD codecs on this earth.

Thanks for the replies chaps, ive got itv and bbc hd now by using coreavc and dvbdream, but i still cant get the hd channels with the software supplied by compro even the lastest updated driver, ive scanned the transponder frequency but it comes back with nothing as far as using a different codec it wont let me change anything , im stuck with compro installed and yes my puter can handle hd
Ive just looked at your pic Harrydeo and were its got nvidia codec, mine comes up with "null" no video v6.6.6001.80 18/01/2008 for the nvidia bit i do have a nvidia card GE8600GT so was supprised it isnt showing. ive tried ffd codecs but no joy all it say is something like codec incompatible, so ive stuck with vid: compro audio: compro vmr:R9 speakers: realtek hd coreAVC : H.264 in dvbdream but i would like to get the bloody compro software to work and scan for hd channels

I dont understand why you are so keen to use OEM player. Nobody uses it. OEM players are tradition always more stubborn and less features. Thats why we have softwares like ProgDVB, DVBDream, MythTV etc exists.

Regarding nvidia codec. That is not a part of Graphics card package. You need to install it separately. Search google for Nvidia PureVideo. Also, you can use Elcard MPEG2 decoder which is bundled with ProgDVB. Ya FFMPEG doesnt work with it. I know.

With regards the compro software, its a matter of principle really, it should work otherwise they are supplying a faulty productIve had a look at the transponder list under astra 28.2e and im abit confused it goes upto 10921 and then jumps to 11739 me thinks thats not right also it has an lnb choice of ku- cu-universal ect now i have a universal ku lnb, that confused matters the lnb i have has a input: 10.70~12.75ghz and an output 950~2150ghz and it dosnt match whats in the lnb freqency boxes, wether i tick ku or uni.It seems this software is set in its ways and dosnt want to changeill post a piccy once ive checked how to post them

The card works ,just not the software. why do companies supply software that hasnt been tested to the full, I believe this software was designed for xp not vista even though ive used the vista driver/software from there website and they say xp or later.what really gets my goat is compro is a large company ,yet those who make dvbdream can produce a free piece of software that works fine with my card once the right codec was installed there are lots of other compro users having probs with there software and some which dont have any problems at all getting Hd in the uk ? Why? what is the problem then?
