My System: Vista 32 bit, Core2Duo 2.4MHz, Technisat Skystar HD2
Is my Skystar HD2 DOA?

Hi just want to confirm if my Skystar HD2 is faulty or not.

We are set up to receive Sky+ HD in our living room. When it was installed I asked for a connection to be wired from the dish to my bedroom.

I bought the Technisat Skystar HD2 to receive Freesat on my PC in my bedroom. However I get no channels. Card and drivers install fine (latest software downloaded from _www.technisat.com, version 1.2 and DVBViewer TE2 beta).

Here is a picture from the channel scan section:

As you can see no channels found - is it me or the card?

N.B. I have managed to receive BBC One with a Hauppage WinTV Nova-S, so it would seem the cable is not at fault.

Sometimes you need to click on 'Scan Devices' in Options - Hardware to get it the driver to kick in.

My System: Covering 30W-105.5E range, two motors, C and Ku band. Various receivers/cards/cams/etc.

I never be able to receive ANY channel using technisat software!

just instal DVBdream and things will go on.

Transedit from DVBViewer Pro's site gives you a much better TP scanning facility than the plain vanilla DVBViewer. Need to buy the Pro version, but well worth the price.

Well tried the above tips to no avail so returned the item and had it replaced. Now DVBViewer and DVBDream etc work fine, so original card was indeed faulty.

Cheers for the pointers.
