My System: SkyStar HD2 |
Hi, I am new to this so please help! I have just bought a SkyStar HD2 and connected it to my existing S*y dish - I plan to use it to receive FTA channels on my PC as I am selling my TV. I installed the bundled software (dvbviewer & drivers) and scanned for channels on Astra 2A/2B/2D & Eurobird - it found all the main ones I wanted with the exception of Channel 4. In the default channel list it shows up but with a key sign over it which I guess means it is locked? I don't understand this as it is a free channel and if I plug my S*y box in with no subscription I can receive it fine... I guess there may be other channels the same although I'm not sure which ones should be receivable without a subscription. I tried following the 'dvbviewer for idiots' guide on this page but got nowhere as it seems the links were dead and there wasn't enough detail. Any ideas/help? Is there anything else I need to install? Many thanks.

My System: SkyStar HD2 | Many thanks, that did the trick. I assumed a full scan would pick up the change but it would seem not. I managed to find a full up-to-date .ini channel file for download on another site which updated all my other channels too.

The ones provided with most applications are ancient. Llew
