What am i doing wrong?

After reading for a while this forum i decided to buy a dvb-s2 pci(nova-hd) after installing the progdvb and Vplug, i still can not see any ecrypted channels...i used the latest keys. Is there any scecial settings that i have to do on the plug in? Are the keys different from on to another sattelite?

Which channels are you trying to view? The main package, open at the moment, is Digi TV on 1 West.

You most certainly have not found Echostar 9. It is impossible from Europe, as it is at 121 degrees west and thus way below your horizon.

If you want to find 1W, I suggest you try a site like dishpointer.com, it will show you a rough direction to point your dish.

Well

Assuming your longitude is 17 to 18 degrees East (as you do not mention where in Sweden), your visable arc should extend from about 70 East to 35 West perhaps more of course all depends upon line of sight, but check out lyngsat.com to find out what you should be able to pick up

Yes it is possible, you need to subscribe.

Here is a list from kingofsat of HD channels, most of them are encrypted, but a few are not.

Yes, there is a stunning difference. On a largish TV for example, I have a 46 inch LCD, the difference is very obvious. SD channels are a bit of a let-down after watching 1080i HD. Its all down to the number of pixels/resolution being used, just like a computer monitor.

You will be in a box 6 ft under before you manage with a compass........ read the dish installation guides and follow each step religiously. Try to set up a tv in sight of the dish so that you can see the signal levels on the stb. It is not like throwing a snow ball into a lake, you have to be accurate to the millimeter
