My System: 80cm antenna, two LNB with DiseqC (astra + hotbird). Skystar S2 + DVBViewer on P4 2,6GHz, 1GB RAM, HD2600XT on AGP.
Driver for B2C2 chipset with DVB-S2

Hi, i buyed Skystar S2. But this card hasn't good BDA driver (actual version has a problem with few DVB-S2 transponders) and all works only with WDM driver, but DVBV isn't support this driver type. I think that BDA driver from my SS S2 is really from Skystar 2 version (i installed driver from this card and the same problem).
So i'm looking from driver of other card to try driver. Any other cards is works on FLEXCOPIIB B2C2 chipset?

Use BDA_ALL as your driver in DVBViewer.

Thanks for your reply. How to install this? I must choose in device manager as driver for my card or similar to dvbdream, but where locate this?

Sorry, that driver works for DVB Dream. Try that application. In DVB Viewer, Settings-Options-Hardware should show the Mantis driver. Be sure the 'Is DVB-S2' is checked.

This card is on B2C2 chipset, so i can't use driver from e.g. Skystar HD2 because this is a clone of Twinhan and works on Mantis. The problem with SS S2 is known and now card works only on WDM driver, but i don't like dvbdream and others. I requested Technisat: 'when added new BDA drivers' and answer was: 'look to website from time to time'. The best program is DVBV so i'm searching for solution.
'Is DVB-S2' is checked. Any others ideas?

Hi there.
That version of Skystar DVB-S2 is a clone of the Technotrend TT-budget S2-3200. You may find a suitable driver for that card here -

hi, i read that S2-3200 is based on Philips chipset, but i installed this driver, however DVBV can't found this card (in the scanner).
Maybe older cards, not with DVB-S2? Skystar 2 was a great construction so must be clones. Maybe casually works with DVB-S2 transponders? Skystar 2 BDA driver works with in approximately 1/2 DVB-S2 tp.

I tried to install older drivers from Skystar 2, but - similar to S2-3200 - install fine, but DVBV don't see card.
Come on Llew, please help me

I haven't got your Skystar HD version, but how are you installing that driver for DVB Viewer? With my Skystar HD2, its driver (Mantis) is in Device Manager > Sound/Video/Game controllers. There, driver details correctly show the Mantis drivers in the Windows/System32 Driver folder.

I haven't Skystar HD. I have Skystar S2. This is product really from Technisat (your HD2 is copy from Twinhan). My card is a continue of Skystar 2, with DVB-S2 head.
I'm only using BDA drivers (which are on Sound/Video/Game) because DVBV don't works with WDM (as network device).
I heart that WDM driver works fine, but i don't like DVBDream and others. DVBV is the best.

Somebody on the DVBViewer forum uploaded a driver for the Technotrend Budget. Possibly it's the one you have, I don't know. Anyhow, I've attached it here in case it's a different one.

Other than that, I don't know what else to suggest.

My System: Receivers: Edision Argus, Technomate TM-5300D+ USB, Skystar HD2 Dish: Tecatel 1.10X1.20 LNB: Sharp BS1REL100W Sat motor: Moteck SG2100 PC: Cpu C2D E8400, 2GB.

Skystar S2 is not based on any trechnotrend card, it is a newer version of Skystar 2 with a new DVB-S2 tuner, and the same B2C2 chipset.

ss-s2.jpg

As far I can tell the only solution to Przemek211's problem could be a new version of driver from Technisat herself...

Not seen that one before. Seems to be for internet satellite services, using an NDIS network driver.

Wouln't think it would be ideal for DVBViewer, unless as you say a suitable driver can be found.

we were writing to Technisat about this problem, but they aren't interested that. This card is popular in Poland because this is the cheapest card with DVB-S2 head.
@Llew: yes, this is for internet, but can be used for any other satellite services. This is only new version of Skystar 2.
I wrote here because i'm looking for other card on B2C2. Maybe other card has good BDA driver.

Unfortunately, I very much doubt if there are any other cards using B2C2, except the ones from Technisat. I mean, I am aware of the existence of at least 30 DVB-S2 cards, and none of them uses B2C2 except Skystar S2.

Btw, what is the exact problem with the BDA driver? You said there were problems with some DVB-S2 channels, but what exactly (stuttering, doesn't lock, ...etc).

Hi. Thanks for your interesting about my problem.
I wrote here: http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...dvbviewer.html (other problem is... no problem )
On FTA HD DVB-S(2) channels from Astra, all is good. But on hotbird only HD DVB-S FTA is ok. HD DVB-S2 is no video and audio, but signal is still ok. (beetwen 78-80% and on astra is similar) Sometimes, for approximatelly 500ms i hear sound. I'm using also local sharing in my home (it's legal in my country) and DW on HD DVB-S2 channels also go ok, but picture is black

I saw also that one DVB-S2 transponder from Astra [10862] isn't working (here are SD and HD channels, but all channels don't works).
