Hi, I am new to the forum. Currently I am considering buying a dvb-s card to build a satellite system. And so far I would like to receive only free-to-air HD/SD channels. The question is, would a dvb-s card be sufficient for that? As I read from Wiki, the transition from S to S2 will take 15 years. Thank you.

Not sure what you mean by transition from S to S2, DVB-S2 channels are already available across many platforms, FTA or encrypted. A DVB-S card won't get you any HD channels other than those few transmitted on DVB-S transponders using MPEG4 (such as Luxe TV on Eurobird 1 and BBC HD on Astra 2). BTW, Nice car the vwpolo, got one myself ![]() Llew
