Skystar HD2 - Scanning Channels Help Needed

Hey guys
Ive now picked up this card, and got it working but im having some trouble setting it up to find channels...
Ive had a look around on some forums for guides etc but nothing stands out
I am using DVBviewer pro, and im sure the correct frequencies to scan the channels for my area is Eurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2D at 28.2°E but using the wizard scan in DVB only brings up 10 tv channels :S
I cant remember which other frequency I used before, but I remember after it scanned it found a hell of a lot more channels,
Also I cant seem to find ITV HD or how to tune it in
Hopefully someone can help as this is doing my head in!

Welcme to the forum Lord Kram.

For ITV HD, check post # 6 in this thread -

http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...-skystar2.html

Don't know why you've suddenly lost the ability to find other channels on 28E. Possible dish misalignment or cable problems?

Why not use Transedit for scanning channels? You can download it from the DVBViewer members' site. Much more user friendly.

I think I found out what the problem was
I changed the step size in DVBviewer TE2 to 1mhz, and starting the scan and already with only 3% scanned its found over 800 channels!
I cant seem to find the option in DVBviewer pro, to change the step size to 1mhz though

Can't do that, as it uses the .ini files in the Transponder folder for scanning the channels.

Ive now sorted out the channels problem, thanks for your help on that
But for some reason. whenever I goto select a different channel from the list, each time I have to go to settings and select video output B to be able to get a picture?
Ive played about changing the decoders etc in settings, but cant seem to stop it
Any ideas?

Can't see that option in Settings in my DVBViewer. What codec are you using?

In DVB viewer pro I have tried to use all the different settings and codecs, but I still have to keep swapping between output A and B each time I change a channel
Heres a few screengrabs below
In no 1 and 2 theres some of the settings ive been using, bt I have noticed in no3 theres also an option under dvd option
My graphics card im using is a ATI radeon 3870x2 and im using windows 7 x64 RTM
Could it be something to do with the os or drivers?

Also I forgot to add this capture as well of the menu:
I know its not the biggest problem in the world, but its extremely annoying
To me it seems like the program is having problems switching between the different channels that use different bitrates/codecs?

I usually get a bit of a temperature for a day or so, nothing untoward. Better that than the real thing mate

Do you need to have different codecs for Video A and B?
I have an earlier version of DVBViewer with my satellite setup, which doesn't have the two Video options, but I do have the later version for Terrestial. With that, I use the same codecs for both A and B, and don't have any switching problems there.

Ive tried using the same codecs and different codecs for video A and B but with no luck
Also tried the same with the audio tab
Which MPEG2 and HD/MPEG4 codec do u use? and which video renderer do you tend to use?
This problem is starting to annoy me, have tried everything it seems!

I'm using these old faithfuls without any problems on my satellite setup. I have an NVidea graphics card, and set the Renderer as shown.

Glad it's working OK now. Yes, using the Pro version. Might update mine to the latest too.
