If you record a channel, you can use another window application to capture any picture from the mpeg file that you make by recording.
I use Nero Showtime Player so check if your DVD player has the capture frame option also.

If you looked and didn't find the option, then it is possible that it doesn't have it.

No problem. Glad to have helped.

Perhaps you can help the forum if you know or can find out the details of a reliable shop in your location who can sell Showtime Premium package to Europe and Middle East at reasonable price. Please post back in this thread:

ShowTime Package

Thank you.

Red face

Hello,

I followed Big Ted's tutorial, but I have a few problems:
  • I don't have a MdPlugins directory under C:\Program Files\DVBViewer\
  • Where can I find the softcam.key file?
  • I downloaded the utility attached (fun2md.zip) but when I double-click it, I get this error message: Run-time error '339': Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
  • In the Filters directory, I don't have a SkyAVC.ax file
  • I didn't find any channels.dat from SoftCSA in the attachment
  • Where can I enable the Marfis Renderer?
  • Where can I find softcsa?
Thanks for your help!

make sure subdirectory is named MDPlugins (MDP in capitals)

3> put softcam.key in the \MdPlugins subdirectory and in dvbviewer root dir (created using utility attached)

3> In the Filters directory, put regsvr32.exe (from Windows/System32), and drag and drop SkyAVC.ax to Regsvr32 to register it

4> put the channels.dat from SoftCSA (also attached) to the DvbViewer directory

5> ensure you have enabled Marfis Renderer

6> ensure you install softcsa attached in plugin directory

7> if you need ecm's they are in yankse.sid.cache in yankse zip

Off you go

Attachment: fun2md v2.1.zip

My System: Sky tv subscription Dreambox 500 s floppydtv card windows 7 DVB Viewer

We have a subscription to sky tv which until the white card came out we were feeding direct from the sky box to a floppy dtv card on vista then windows 7, which was fine. Having heard rumours that this wouldn't work with the white card we got a dreambox500s which would. Everything seemed fine but for no apparent reason now the dvbviewer won't display subscription channels, the plugin and everything else is working fine, we checked system out using dvbdream which worked ok but image wasn't as good as through dvb viewer (when it works) so we need to figure out why DVB VIEWER is recieving card details ok but not displaying subscription channels.

Any help most gratefully recieved.
TIA
