My System: Dreambox 7000, Skystar2

Can't remember, but watched 1080 on 19.2E no problems. Needed to change the filter I was using in MT V2.76 though to eliminate the pixellation.

Sorry, I know this doesn't answer any of your points, but it may give you some hope

My System: skystar 1 + Motorised dish.

Me too I tried watching an HDTV channel which is fta on hotbird, and I get blocky picture and poor sound. I have a skystar 1 and also 2, and on both of them same thing happened, using both myTheatre and ProgDVB.

OK, I've been doing a little bit of testing on the HD Forum test channel on 13E 11013 Horizontal 27500.

My findings so far?

With MyTheatre V2.76, you can change the graph settings until you find the one that works best. I used the default ones for ages with no problems, but HDTV was really blocky and kept locking up. Changed graph settings to Win2000 V-Cyberlink, A-InterVideo - and it's perfect.

On the Skystar 2 the pictures are stunning.

Give it a go if you have MT installed. I've also had this working on HD1 on 19.2E in the past. Same graph solution.

Get it free here :- _http://www.sat.joy.ro/download.html

Don't know if you can change 'graphs' in ProgDVB, and even if it was possible it would probably take me a week to find out how to do it as it's the most poorly laid out piece of 'kin software I've ever used.

With the standard install of the latest version it's 90% OK, but a bit blocky/locky.

Picture comes straight up though.

It's obviously either on a data-bandwidth limit somewhere, is experiencing a processing bottleneck, or there is a software/driver glitch.

HTH somebody.

STICK

My experience of HDTV on my SS2 was that it was used a lot of resources. It used around 80% cpu of my Pentium 2700MHz.
You certainly can't use a low spec PC.

My System: Skystar 2, (so far) Hopefully 80cm dish & 0.3db monoblock P4 2.53Ghz O/C 3.02Ghz Athlon XP 2200 HTPC Barco Data 701 CRT Projector 87" wide 16:9 screen

I managed to watch a few minutes of the HDFORUM channel last night, the picture on my Barco CRT projector was stunnining, had a blocky picture until i changed the filters to the Nvidia dvd decoders. played pretty smoothly on a AMD xp2200, but i couldn't get the filters to stick with progdvb.

I will try and do some more testing, oh and the quality & level were about 35%

Regards

James

Best, result ive had so far is using the cyberlink powerdvd v5.0 filters in progdvb, this gives stutter and pixel free pictures in high defininition., thats on a AMDxp2200 c/w 256 mb of ram, the default elecard filters just wont do.

Hope this helps

My System: Quad core 4GB Ram Vista 64bit 24" 245B Samsung widescreen TFT. Nvidia Zotac 8800GT AMP! Edition 512MB graphics card + Skystar 2 sat tv card with DVB Viewer Pro 3.9 Intel mac mini dual core with eyetv 3.0.1 running Cinergy S USB satellite box 1m Fu

Yes now 3 or 4 HD channels / feeds on AStra 19. The new Canel + channel is also excellent. Also on 5 west there is a copy of the HD Forum. I think havfing a HTPC helps with a good graphics card, certainly going up from 128MB to 256MB and doubling the ram to 1gig made a huge difference wirth me, very processor hungry these HD feeds!

Also another prog Skyview seems to use a lot less processor power than ProgDVB for the HD channels

A google search for "Skyview DVB" brings up several links where you can download it.

No, that PC isn't working at the moment I'm afraid.
