My System: Technomate 1500CI+ and Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-HD-S2 on a 104 cm motorized dish and Humax HDCI200 on 90 cm motorized dish.

Im new to this so that means that theres a possiblity current generation sat cards can recieve DVB S2 through emulation?

The main reason im asking is to recieve the HD feeds on 27.5w or atleast try to recieve them.

Im sorry for my n00bness.

Cheers.

The current generation will not, but there are adverts emerging for S2 cards albeit a tad on the pricey side at the moment. (I'll look about and find one)

I've checked the signal you are refering to and it would 'seem' to be S2 as I get no decode on the SS1 I'm using, but equally could be something else until we get confirmation from a reliable source.

basically,
senario 1:
you have a receiver i.e s*y digibox
to watch certain channels you use a s*y card,
you can then watch certain channels.

senario 2
you have a reciever i.e. dvb-s card in your pc using progdvb(receiver software)
to watch certain channels you use s2emu
this is a software EMUlator so that you can watch certain channels

search forum there is plenty of info if your willing to look

AH - it's a samey namey thing
S2emu is a software CAM emulator, which does the job of pretending that you have bought a conditional access module from a TV provider. Along with a keyfie this will open some encrypted channels transmited in the current format.

DVBS2 cards are quite different.

S2emu v1.21 question

Are there instructions on exactly how to use it with MyTheatre? Does the softcam.key get altered automatically? What folder does the S2EMU folder go in?
