My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

No there isn't free internet on Hotbird, or any other satellite as far as I know, as any internet service requires an outward data path and this needs to be done over a landline and linked to the downstream by the satellite internet provider.

You may with some software be able to snatch other people's downloads, but it is a pretty random and pointless (in my opinion) exercise.

One of the best value PC cards is the Skystar2, but you do need a reasonable spec PC to run it on encrypted channels.
