My System: I bet on red. If I lose, I double the bet on red again. I continue with this until I lost everything.

Muhuhuhahahahahaaaaarrrgggh

I am not sure I can identify the problem like this, but it seems to me that the motor driver (software) is not functioning. Normally, for small dishes this is performed by the diseqc driver, and most likely that your receiver needs these settings to be re entered. It could be that the plugin needs reinstalling or even more simply a box ticked.

Tell us a bit more about your receiver, and if you come accross the disecq issue.

2.8 ath xp 512 ddr asus mobo ati vga

still the same
this is the card btw
hp://ww.technotrend.de/english/download/tt-dvbsat-pci.jpg
*edit*
just remembered i had a 2 port isolation switch which i dont use
regardless to say that has just been disconnected andf it still wont drive
**edit*

so it must be the pci card , possibly would a diseqc switch do the job ?

btw i used to own 2 computer shops and i still sell pcs thats why i have all the hardware / software

i take it youve read and already done this?
Notes for this version
-----------------------------

First, you must close all DVB applications.
Then save the new version on your PC and extract the files into a new folder.

For the new software you must also update the drivers for your DVB-card.
If you use Windows 98, you will need the CD named "Installations - CD for MS- Windows 98"

Open your "Device Manager" and look for the topic "network cards" and
"remove"/ "deinstall" the device "Virtual DVB-S/-C/-T Network Adapter".

Look for:
"TechnoTrend - TT-DVBsat PCI" or "TechnoTrend - TT-PCline premium" then
choose "drivers update" on the tab "Driver" and
follow the instructions of the operating system.

You can find the new driver-information and the new drivers
in the main folder of your new installation
(the folder you extracted the new files to).

Please use the function "Remove" on the tab
"Start"-"Settings"-"Control Panel"-"Software" for the software
"TT-PCline premium" first.

Restart your PC, then run the file "setup.exe" to install the new software.
Follow the instructions of the installation.

My System: dreambox 500s art card

kinda come to a conclusion
1 its not the motor (it moves via the switches on it and ive seen another reciever move it )
2 its not the wiring , totally replaced and all new f plugs (signal on hotbird 100%)
3 its not the psu (had 2 working on the pc)
4 its not the pc , tried 1 other and built a new one to try it (also windows)
5 all drivers and diseqc software tried different combos
6 even a different dish has been tried

for the first time in ages im beaten .

so my only ideas left

1 new sat card / reciever (id like a dreambox )
2 new motor

thanks for the help guys the wifes patence is only so strong and shes not happy over the time im spending on the sat and its not working
i think ill just stick to a static dish

thanks

New motor sounds good
36V H-H with a Vbox will sort it. With 99 memories and a remote control, it will futureproof your system if you ever want a larger dish and they're generally a sturdier arrangement.

I've always run this way as I prefer manual rather than auto on the whole.

can only echo what lanceloy said,
there so much less strain on cable, pc card and cpu that the difference/performance is very evident

now think apart from moving the dish etc did you change anything on your computor, ie: update anything, driver, software.

because otherwise it's phyical/mechanical and according to you youve checked every thing

and you said it worked with another reciever?

If it's not an intermittant fault on the motor, I'm going to stick my neck out and say that it has to be the physical card based on everything else you've tried. The proof of the pudding would be to borrow a DiSEqC receiver and have it on test at your place for a couple of days.

Could be loads of other stuff though. Did you power off the PC before messing with it all in the first place?

Did you maybe short something?

Maybe there's some water in either your coax or possibly even the LNB?

Can you perform a 'factory reset' on the motor?

Have the east/west limit stops moved?

Whatever it is, a loan of a new STB will tell you which half (inside or outside) the problem lies in.

STICK
