Hi all. As promised in the following thread: http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/...ad.php?t=72592 this is a new thread to try and get to the bottom of a problem I'm having with plugins using various dvb viewers I'm tried pretty much all combinations of s2emu, Vplug and Yankse on progdvb and altdvb with no luck so far. By the way, I have read through numerous threads on this already and they do give good advice - it just doesn't seem to work for me. I must admit I'm struggling here. First of all I'm pointing at Hotbird 13E and apparently, armed with an up-to-date softcam, I should be able to see more than just the FTV channels. Can someone please confirm the names of a few of the channels I should be able to see - just in case I'm trying to crack the uncrackable. Also has anyone managed to get a softcam to work with a budget card (Twinhan 1030 sat-ci in my case)? I've read in other threads that the budget cards need some tweaking i.e. by moving some dll's around or whatever. Perhaps that's what I'm doing wrong. Lastly, what would be the best combination of viewer/plugin? My latest attempt is using vlpug with altdvb - really only because I think the altdvb picture looks slightly sharper than progdvb - and vplug because you get that useful little icon on the bottom of the screen showing error messages. By the way, mine always seems to say "invalid hash key - starting autoecm" or something like that. Apologies for the long thread and numerous questions but I thought I'd try to provide most of the info up front. thanks in advance, Melvyn

My System: Skymaster DCI9900 + PC/twinhan combination. 80cm dish. GBPVR with 2 DTTV cards +hauppauge Media MVP | I'm using Twinhan, Prog**b, Vp**g 1.2.1 and recent softcam.key file. T*S and M****v**n are clearing. Vp complains that v-aes.db is out of date, but I guess its still working because it gets the key off the web. Everything is in the Prog*** folder - no tweaking of DLLs needed I get the autecm message in the VP status window. It takes a few minutes to find the correct one if it hasn't been used for a couple of days. If it still doesn't, look for a newer .key file

My System: Twinhan Sat-Ci Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T | Hi pgh13...thanks for your response. I do have a couple of questions though..... Sorry but what are T*S and M****v**n? Did it take any special configuration changes (of eiher progdvb or vplug) to get it working, or did you literallly just install everything and it worked? Oh, and I didn't realise it could take some time to run autoecm.....I just assumed it wasn't working and I tried another channel. Next time I'll leave this running for a few mins. Melvyn

My System: SS1. 3.4Ghz P4. 125cm Gibbi with Channelmaster feedhorn and Inverto C120 twin. 36v H to H 62E - 61W ![]() ...And thou were the truest friend to thy lover that ever bestrad horse..." | TPS is the provider name, Multivision is the channel bouquet. ![]() There is an alternative to key grabbing in case the site(s) go down. There are several large sofcam files kicking around on the web with the next few days AES keys already in them. You could put one of those into the ProgDVB folder instead. Rgds L.

My System: Twinhan Sat-Ci Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T | Thanks Lancelot.....if I don't get any joy with the autoecm then I'll try searching for one of the large softcam files you mentioned. Melvyn

My System: HTPC: AMD Athlon 4200+ X2 | Twinhan sat CI DVB-S | Nebula DVB-T | iMON rsc | HD70 | Kenwood DVT7000 | Tannoy EFX5.1 | Moteck SG2100A | ISS 80cm | I use the twinhan card with progdvb and the plugins, I get all the expected channels, I cant imagine why you might not but I can recomend the steps that I used if it is any use. 1) install twinhan card and load on wdm drivers only 2) install latest free version of progdvb (make sure you select "twinhan compatible" from the relevent menu when installing, also make sure the option to register "thsource.ax" is selected) 3) download Lancelot's channel list and overwrite channels folder in progdvb folder 4) make sure that you are able to receive a fta channel 5) put s2emu.dll and s2emu.ini in progdvb folder 6) put vplug.dll and other related vplug files in progdvb folder 7) download a up to date softcam file and also place in progdvb folder 8) start prog dvb, select hotbird tab and open channel folder, select m****vision 1 and wait for about 10-20 secs and enjoy

My System: Twinhan Sat-Ci Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T | Thanks for the step-by-step instructions Gromit. I think that's what I probably need. I tried in vain again last night using altdvb and vplug but the autoecm message just sat there and never came back with a picture. I'll try your method next time and let you know what happens. cheers, Melvyn

My System: Twinhan Sat-Ci Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T | Hi all....I tried in vain yet again to get s2emu and vplug working with progdvb but with no success. The s2emu info window says the seca2.cfg file is missing, but apparently that's not important. The vplug info window says the same as before that autoecm is running....I left progdvb running whilst tuned into Spice P*******m for about 3 mins but no picture appeared. Incidentally, I copied in Lancelots channel files but there was no "Multivision" channel folder. There's a TPS folder with 2 encrytped channels under it, and a T-System folder with a load of "V" channels including Spice P*******m channel under it, but no "Mulitivision". Am I doing something wrong? I can attach some screenshots if that helps. Also, can someone please explain what's going on behind the scenes with autoecm? Is it connecting to some website (perhaps my firewall software is blocking) to get key info, or just trying to do some local decrypting using the softcam? Is there some log I could look at to see if anything is happening? thanks once again.....Melvyn

My System: Sky X2, Beausat 2004 FTA Plus, Echostar LT-730, twinhan Vision Plus DVB Card. 90cm Nokia Dish, 1.8m Also Manhattan 9650 Analogue | What do we need for ProgDVB to be auto-updating. I think plugins that auto will do for me. I can get the scrambled channels going but I don't know how to make it auto. I instead have to rely on my decoder for the keys each time. Can some1 give a step by step to auto-updating?

My System: [ Relook 250S ] | From my experience s2emu + vplug with progdvb is a bad combination, try using only vplug.
