Talking how happy are you ?

just a thought

how happy are you with your pc based sat system.
does it live up to your demands .
does it make you feel all warm when the closed channels are opened up.
is there anything else you would like to do with you system.
what could/would add to make it better for you.
and what spec is your pc you use to run it on.

im happy with my skystar set up. it does everyting the high end rx units...
id love to see more hd channels

i would love to see a twin tuner version .

My System: HTPC: AMD Athlon 4200+ X2 | Twinhan sat CI DVB-S | Nebula DVB-T | iMON rsc | HD70 | Kenwood DVT7000 | Tannoy EFX5.1 | Moteck SG2100A | ISS 80cm

Very happy, I could do with a bit more processing power to cope with the HD stuff but otherwise it suits my needs exactly, plays dvd, does sat tv and moves my motor on channel change, freeview and topuptv and serves all my digital media

I'm using:

XP 2200+
512mb 3200
300Gb SATA
Nvidia 6600gt
Twinhan 1030 dvbs with progdvb
Moteck sg2100
Nebula dvbt with digitv HD
5.1 audio via spdif and an av amp
all in a Thermaltake tenor case
controled by an iMON rsc remote and a wirless keyboard
Image is provided by a Themescene HD70, image is 81 inches diagonal (makes for some interesting viewing)

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

Does a skystar I decode HD? If it does I could put one in my HTPC and watch it though my projector Then I'd be happy

My System: skystar2 pci skystar usb + porty lidl camping dish maybe one day i'll have a dreambox 500s...

well it definetly wouldn't do it on HW but i think it can do it on software, like a skystar 2 (but then again, it's not the card itself that decodes it, it's the cpu+gpu if any acceleration enabled innit?). I reckon there's some threads about that on dvbn...
btw, when talking about HDTV by all means try to precise, as there's mpeg2 and mpeg4/AVC/H.264 which is a totally different ball game m8

oh and yeah, it obviously doesn't do any dvb-s2 which unfortunatly tends to go along HD these days

My System: Fortec Star Dynamic Decoder 90cm Dish USALS Motor SkyStar2 PCI PROG DVB DVB VIEWER

I would be a hell of a lot happier if there where some D+ keys out there that actually worked. Does anyone remember working D+ keys? Those where the days….

I meant skystar 2- software decoding of hidef needs a hefty machine.

Does skystar 2 decode hidef (using hardware rather than software)? BY hidef I mean BBC HD and similar stuff. I've tried decoding a hidef film using coreAVC and it was unwatchable- killed the machine- and coreAVC is supposed to be the best...
