My System: Skystar card and motorised dish
Vista

Has anybody had success in getting a Skystar card installed under windows Vista? I have heard there are not going to be any specific Vista drivers released for Skystar cards. I have heard it is possible to get the skystar cards running under vista.

I have Skystar card with TV out (I always forget if I have Skystar 1 or 2). When I go to device manager after installing vista I get the usual ? next to multimedia controller. If I click on update driver I get the usual error message of drivers not being specific for Vista (like when you install under XP) I tell it to continue anyway. It then installs the first half of the driver ok and then when it tries to install the next bit I again get a message that the drivers are not specific to Vista. Again I click on install anyway. It then tries to install but crashes and my PC reboots itself.

If anybody has had success with installing a Skystar under Vista could you point me to the drivers you used and explain how you go it to install. Thanks.

My recommendation at this moment in time is to stick with XP as Vista cannot yet supply drivers for the common basics let alone obscure sat cards, do you not read the press and this forum?

My System: 1.2M & 55cm Gregorian Dish`s, 1.5m Gibertini on a Jaeger 1224 H-H motor. Dreambox 7025 200gb HD, Vbox-II. SS2 Card.

Yes Vista is suppose to be a step forward! A neighbor had a load of problems with tiscali, and other isp`s are said to be no better off. Im not going to "UPGRADE" until its all smoothed out

My System: Triax TD88 dish w/ 4 LNBs (13E, 19E, 23.5E, 28E), Skystar2 2.6 with March beta drivers, Vista, DVBViewer.

If it's a Skystar2, they're fine with Vista. Just install the latest beta drivers and everything works (including motors).
