MultiChoice Africa on Eutelsat Sesat & W4 at 36.0°E

Hi,

I am new here. This is my first post. Could someone out there please tell me whether or not it's possible for me to pick up the Multichoice Africa Package on Eutelsat Sesat & W4 at 36.0°E here in Bangalore - India? What Dish size would I require? Could you recommend a suitable Receiver/Decoder? I am particularly interested in the first three television channels: KTN (Kenya), KBC Channel 1 and NTV (Kenya). Below is the link to the package:

http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/mcafrica36.html

Below is a link to the Eutelsat Seasat: South Africa footprint map:

http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/sesat_saf.html

Thank You.

He wants the Kenyan channels - which are not carried on Intelsat 7/10

Basically Chit Chat theres no way of getting the Kenyan channels you want in Bangalore - you are too far out of transmission area.

Hi Tahir!

Thank you for that information. The reason I picked out on Multichoice Africa on Eutelsat Sesat % W4 at 36.0 °E is because they have three Television Channels (KTN (Kenya), KBC Channel 1 + NTV (Kenya) and four Radio Stations (KBC English Service), KBC Kiswahili Service), Coro FM + Metro FM) from my country in that package.

I am aware that Intelsat 10 at 68.5°E (C beam) can be received here in Bangalore but the channels I am seeking aren't available on this satellite. However, I would be glad if you could tell me whether or not it's possible to receive the same Television channels and Radio stations on following satellites:

(1) Intelsat 902 at 62.0°E (SW zone beam)

http://www.lyngsat.com/intel902.html

http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/intel902_swzone.html

(2) Intelsat 802 at 32.9°E (Spot 1 beam)

http://www.lyngsat.com/intel802.html

http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/intel802_spot1.html

(3) Atlantic Bird 3 at 5.0°W (Panatlantic beam)

http://www.lyngsat.com/ab3.html

http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/ab3_c.html

I have recently purchased a new TS-5500 SUPER SMART II TECHNOSAT STB - Digital Satellite Receiver. Would this do? What type and size of Dish Antenna woud I require?

I have noticed that you have three "monster" Dish Antennas: two 12 Feet and one 16 Feet!!!! Would you mind running the tests for me on them? Please call me on no phone numbers on the forum - admin and will take it up from there.

Thank You!

Bro stuzeeuk is referring to Intelsat 7/10@68.5E .I receive the satellite in India, like many other Indian members of our forum.
However,as Analoguesat pointed out, some of the channels on Intelsat 7/10@68.5E not receivable to India,as the beams appear focussed particularly on Africa.

Hello!
on end of november, this satellite should be replaced, hope that the mcsa beam then are stronger, the rusian beam,of ntv in the new footprint map, should "end"over the cechz republic!
maybe thats are all rumours from the net,but the satellite change,on this position will come!
i test it with 2,20m and 3 meter, absoulte no signal,on rusian channels and also multichoice in kuband, with one word, forget about it,when you not live near the beam in portugal for example!
central europe here, currencly a imposible mission!

in other areas it works,
with big dishes
but not here
hope the new sat will change the situation!

On that link you quote, look at the channels with European Beams, you ,may manage those however make sure which band they are in, some are in C and some Ku band which obviously alters the equipment you need

C band big dish required
_http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/intel10_afreur.html ACBN, Chosen TV Emmanuel TV, Loveworld

Ku Band
_http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/hb8.html AIT.Loveworld on Hotbird

The others are mostly below your horizon

Hello!
intresting, whould be,in areas, where it is posible,to receive the rusian ntv package, how much will be the diffrent in signal,on a circular linar lnb realy?
i recogneized, when i make the test, with a inacom quad circular /linar output, that the freqency range,on both bands are not the same,in 11 ghz range only one channel sending linar, the rest diffrent!
but the strange thing, was that i have ,in my test, with this invacom circular linar qaud,in kuband exactly the same strange, then with a normal kuband lnb!
in otherwords,is when the signal of linar/circular strong enough, how big the gain winning, will be,comparing with a normal kuband lnb?
when i see via versa in the kuband test,no sginal diffrence,then i belive,that a circular/linar lnb,is not realy nesarsarly,to catch this bird!
