Can i catch BADR-3,4(26 E) in south india..

hi freinds,
This is my first thread. i am from vellore, tamil nadu.
i have 10 feet dish with c and ku band LNB. can i catch BADR-3,4 satellite to receive mbc channels and also some arabic channels. give some ideas friends. advance thanks to all..

Well if you click here you will see you are a long way off the MBC footprint. It is not easy to say for sure, as you have a large dish I can see no reason why you should not try. According to the scales 3 mtr may be enough but there can be no guarantees as fringe reception is very hit and miss.

Do you have Ku band receiver and lnb?

thanks.. yes i have Ku band receiver and lnb. before six month i received mbc2 and cnn channels in analog receiver. but now i can't able to receive.

I have checked the map for MBC@26E,the reception, if not impossibe,is extremely difficult,as for reception in analogue receiver,since it uses different technonogy than digital,it was receivable.

I receive ASTRA Analog channels in INDIA. But I donot receive digital channel.

Analog signal is far easy to get & murugan2213 you can try this sat with ur 10 feet dish.

Even in the case of Analog we have received most of the satelites which are never in MAP & never ever covers INDIA .

Hello sir,
I am new to this forum basically i am from south but now posted to delhi .I hv taken dish tv connection here but i have curiosity in this field .I have also a 60 cm dd direct + dish antenna which is extra to me now can i use this antenna to receive ABS satellite to watch some foreign channels (ntv,dtv,ftv russia)as i hv seen on a website that this satellite(ABS) can be tracked easily in delhi and require only 55 cm dish antenna.

Yes u can use that antenna for abs

In order to get the desired satellite elavate the extra dish a little and move towards
East compared to DD DTH.

hi moradabad, as you said, 60 cm dish /ku/ can be used to get ABS1. i have tried but got only edusat channels. what should i do to get ABS1 and what other sat. can i get with DISHTV dish /KU LNB / FTA DIG. RECVR.

sir, i hv tried to receive abs but of no use as srei had said to move dish somewhat towards east and elevate the dish i hv elevated it by 1 -2 deg now sir what can i do to receive abs on this antenna .i can't buy a big dish antenna as i am staying in apartments.please help?

sir can i receive any other satellite to recv russian channels........with the same 60 cm dish antenna.(dd direct+).how can i recv 2 satellite on this dish antenna.

MAKE A SATELLUITE AS CENTER THEN ATTACH KU CLAMP But unfortunately KU CLAMPS not availabe in North INDIA.

I also imported those clamps from Dubai.

what are KU clamps ? also tell me what degree (as marked on dish ) do i elevate it to and exactly which position from edusat, as i am still unable to get abs1. what to do for ST1.

Sir KU CLAMPS are special clamps with 1 Big ROD & A CLAMP to Hold multiple LNBS on same dish.

I receicve ABS1,ST1,TATA, DISHTV, 91.5 on same 60 CM dish

i had tried for abs1 but in vein...

got only edusat with maximum signal (92-93%) quality on realigning the dish. what do i do for re-align.

if you are mentioning delhi. can u upload pics of the dish you are using with its elevation angle and direction it is pointing to ? what elevation angle is there on the side of the dish where degrees are marked.

Now i am able to recv abs1 with 60cm dish tv dish. But 1-2 tp's only, rest have very low signal around 10-20 percent due to which the reciever is unable to find any channels..

what do i do ? pls guide..

Slowly move(rotate) the LNB a bit in both directions,there you will get more
transponders,keep patience and persistence.

hello there,

i am using an assembeld recvr
(starvision DV-105, its manual says - fujitsu based)
(menu shows ali-3328C-13009 chipset)

same recver giving upto 85%-88% signal quality on DDD+ and 70-80%on NSS6.

While rotating the LNB to any direction, the signal only decreases which means that its at its optimum setting. meanwhile it is a dishtv LNB 0.5DB

will a gardiner 0.7db ku LNB make it any better or worse ?

Do any of you suggest any specific LNB that is available in Delhi (LRmarket) which may recv signal with higher gain ?

LAST thing...

I am getting satisfactory reception with some disturbance (pixeling etc, signal low) at night
whereas in day time the signal goes a bit more down and there is mostly no display / no signal (10-22% only, below locked mark)

Any one else getting same results in DELHi with a 60CM DISH TV DISH ?

pls suggest some improvising steps.

i am also in delhi trying out the same as u r trying as u hv got 10-30% signal from abs and i am still not able to track it.do u hv any pics of u r dish.i am also using the 60 cm dish antenna.
where r u in delhi.
