My System: SUNDIRECT DTH only beb...
Unhappy Need advice how to use SUNDIRECT outside India ---> Malaysia

Hi all,
I bought SUNDIRECT dish from India and take back to my country Malaysia, I need someone help to guide me how to align properly in order to get the signal. Let me explain something, I had activate and used this decorder in India before take back to Malaysia.

The error shown : E48 No signal & E52 Searching for signal

By using the _http://www.n2yo.com/?s=30793 I manage to get the azimuth and elevation at my present area, but still can't received the signal.
My current location: Malaysia
Sat: INSAT4B
Azimuth : 232.3
Elevation : +80.09

Another my bad time was I left the remote control at India and it on way to Malaysia not sure when I will received ! But I confident my previous setting in India (done by SUNDIRECT installer).

May I need to change any setting in STB ?

I really apperieciate if someone able to help me ! Thanks in advance !

My System: One 12 Feet Heavy Antenna, one 10 Feet Double Rib Antenna Dreambox Dm500S, DM 7025. HD Receiver,Envision, Eurostar receiver, 4 Dual LNBS, 5 PFA Lnbs

What size dish you are using to receive the signal I am not sure if yu can receive the signal theer in malaysia.

I think you need atleast 180 to 200 CM antenna with Primefosucs KU lnb to receive this satellite.

As far as remote you can use the same STB. as SUn is MPEG4 you wont get a decoder easily.

My System: SUNDIRECT DTH only beb...

Hi,

I'm using 60cm dish as what SUNDIRECT used, in Malaysia we not allowed to use external DTH except our local ASTRO (very expensive and not good.)

I have a friend in Burma(Ranggon) using TATAsky with same 60cm dish he able to receive all channel from India...I'm not sure whether I able to receive or not with this SUNDIRECT ? If you recommend to bigger dish...i can't since i cannot get and heavy penalty in Malaysia if we use personal dish ....

I manage to bring in this DTH from India last month....really hope able to use !...

Base on the INSAT4B location it closer to Malaysia and the next sat was Measat3 (used for ASTRO Malaysia DTH provider)

In Malaysia it been monopoly only by 1 company....so no much choice and expensive !

Pls help ! Any setting in STB will help me ? I'm awating for my SUNDIRECT remote control at least can play around with my luck !

Sun Direct operates on the Indian beam which is a spotbeam onto the Indian subcontinent

_http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/in4b_india.html

Now according to that officially there is no coverage whatsoever into Malaysia, but we know the satellites often have better coverage than the official maps. Extrapolating the drop off from that map (which is complete guesswork and probably inaccurate) Id say you will need something well over 1m in diameter. You say you cant have a dish that size, therefore you cant have Sun Direct.

Hi Anologuest,

let say I'm using more than 1metre dish what kind of LNB I suppost to use ? KU or C band ?

Just for you info, few months a go I went to Burma (Ranggon) notice one of my friend using TATAsky there and he using original 60cm dish in Burma and he able to received all the channel. I also think the same concept as what u had claimed but not sure since not much knowledge on Sat dish...

I really hope if I can get some channel with my current gadgets eg. 60cm/sundirect dish I will more than happy ! but my problem is no remote control so adjust any setting in the STB...

Are there any potential if I change any setting on STB will received some channels ?

Sun Direct transmit in Ku band.

I have no idea about the possibilities of the receiver, although many boxes these days are tied to the service they are originally designed for.

Its a certainty though if it will work away from Sun Direct that you will only get the free channels from other satellites on it.

As for the lack of remote control - many boxes have very low functionality without the remote!

If you manage to get an ordinary FREE to Air receiver than fix your dish to proper location, the setting in receiver are not to be disturbed prior to that.

Highly Unlikely

Hi, i am staying in Brunei (near East Malaysia) and i have tried the same thing like you by bringing in Dish TV decoder sometime back, I already have 2 meter Dish here (i am using to view free to air channels in C- band), my technician here tried his best but unable to get the signal for dish tv (NSS6 satellite). The chances are very remote to get the signal from the spot beam also bear in mind Astro in Malayasia will lose it's customers if SUN Direct channels can be viewed in Malaysia hence i don't think you will be able to view the channels in Malaysia.

Bro sshaik,The signal of ku appears to be concentrated to India.Pl check whether you are able to receive ku signals from the satellite with the help of FTA receiver, replace c band LNB with ku LNB and check. If you are able to receive11570 V27500 DD channels, then ku is receivable in your location, otherwise no hope.

If you are able to get free channels from the satellite, there is guaranteed reception for the ecrypted channels as well, provided proper equipments are installed.

According to an earlier post a 5 foot dish can be used in Dubai for Sun Direct.

Sun transmit in Ku band not C-band, so if your dish is a C-band mesh dish it wont be suitable. If its a solid dish then you should be ok if you can find a suitable lnb for it.
