Can you please suggest me that there is any difference between c band(Prime focus) and ku band(Offset dishes)???????? for the reception of both the bands(C+Ku) on same dish?????????

Like receiving C+Ku on the offset dish??????????? Or receiving both on Prime focus dish???????? I am thinking of buying a 120cm offset dish from apna dth (MCBS)...... is it a good decision??????

solid ( not net,) prime focus dish works C band +ku-band satellite.
offset dish made for ku-band only.it can work C band satellites.

I can advise to buy 180cm(6foot,6parts) or 240cm (8foot,6parts) Solid prime focus dish which works C band & Ku-band.It is very easy tranfer from one place to another place.180cm dish cost is 2500/- in delhi.

if you are interest to buy APNA 120cm offset dish.Do not buy because it has more expensive. Local 120cm dish is cheapest one.It works same as APNA dish.Price of 120cm dish from 1200/- to 2000/-

offset dish is made for ku-band only.it is possible to watch Asiasat & pas10 c band channel. but you get weak signal

For Price
180cm not availble or more expensive
120cm for 2000/-
90cm for 600/-

more details check following site

thank you......... but i was imagining that whether a offset dish can receive better signals of c band as there is no blockage in the path of the signals and the reflecting surface is also solid.... therefore i think it is a good type of dish to receive both the bands????????? don't go for the size................

Sorry if i had written something wrong......but please clear my doubt..

Yes use a C Clamp on offset feed antenna...

I have tested many and offset feet gives far better signal on C+KU or C or Ku ...

But as offset comes in single piece thats why its costly and not available in big sizes.

I agree with you Moradabad Sir,,,,,, that is why i am thinking to buy an 120 cm offset dish........ as you said that it is costly..but i am going to spend money .... because it is a heavy duty thing which is for longer time than a prime focus.... because of the shape and size of the prime focus dishes the wind affects more prime focus dishes.......... and not so much the offset dishes.........(I think so)...... So, I want to confirm my selection of buying an 120 cm offset dish ..... as i want to receive only most indian satellites ......... so, is my selection is good to purchase an 120cm offset dish to receive C Band & Ku Band ...........

Is there any difference in receiving the C Band from prime focus dishes and offset dishes???????? is there any loss in signal?????????? except for size as the satellites of c band which i want to receive are suggesting nearly 120cm size according to their EIRP......... Is it good to fit the normal C Band LNB on the offset dish???????

Is it possible to receive Asiasat 3s, Asiasat 4, Intelsat(PAS) 10, Thaicom 5 (c band) on 120 cm offset ku dish with all the TPs and both the polarities??????????? I am from Indore(M.P.)

Please Reply........ very urgently.......... I am in great confusion...

Please also mention that what do you mean by a C clamp??????

M8 as far as Asiasat 3s, Asiasat 4 you can get on 90CM also.

But its always advised to have big dish like 180CM or 240 CM to get all TP of any satellite which is in C band.

Unfortunately we donot have much choice either we have to buy Mesh dish or Solid one.

Solid good quality is not availeble now as due to less dish sale no one is keeping these solid dishes in North .

All dishes comes from south. as in south still there are many FTA south indian channels so people install C band dishs in south

As far as Offset dish I already mentioned they have very heavy gain.

But unfortunately in delhi we donot get good offset too all are locally made with some fault

Ok........ i want to know that whether it is possible to get a good reception of c band on offset dish as like prime focus or more good than the prime focuses???????

Also ...... is there any way to determine the elevation of c band dishes???? if i would buy a 6ft prime focus solid then will it have the elevation marking as we see in the offset dishes?????????? and hey are also big...... then how to make them stand?????????? as i dont want it to take as much space on my roof and i also don't want to fix it at a single place??????

Its ok. thats why i am thinking to buy the dishes from apna dth as they are very well known company....... i think so......... price doesn't matter so much but the matter is about less space and reception quality.......

Hello Gentleman

The reception in C band signals in off set dish is far better when compared to primefocus dishes. That too for fringe and out of foot print signals ,the offset dish will give very good results .

I am using a 6 ft offset dish for c band reception and the picture quality is cristal clear. Only thing you should keep remeberence is mounting of C band lnb in offset dish and any minor variation you may experience small freezing of signals.

Any further information ,can ask for

Hello

I am using the 6ft offset dish for 146 E and 138E from which I get both C and Ku band receiption. The dish alone costs Rs 10000 (Indian rupee)about 4 years back .May be the cost might have come down now I don't know. The pictureof the dish attached in one of the forum reply please have a look.

The signal level I get above 85 to 95% on both the satellites. Getting signal strength is your skill in alaignment of dish and adjusting the focal point.

I am using C band LNBF costing Rs 275 and Ku band I-pox costing Rs 150 ,which is easily available in any electronic shop . The receiver i used is Technosat 1100 plus which key edit receiver and dream box 500 on card sharing.

By the way which is your location. Hope I gave all answers for you.

Hello

Yes I have one 6 ft prime focus ,but the signal strength of 6ft offset is much better than prime focus.

But getting the off set dish of higher size is difficult in India. You can try with BSNL and other two way internet connectivity people ,who will replace the old antennas to the companies which you can hunt and get one and try.

Hello Moradabad

If I am correct ,the Ku of Agila does not have foot print coverage on India ,only C band have coverage.
