Standby Sky

A couple of friends have asked me, assuming that as I have a big dish I will know, why their Sky box goes to the screen message: 'Your box will is about to go into standby'. To stop it press etc.' This causes stoppage of recordings they are making whilst not watching. Said I would ask here how to prevent this. TIA

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

It shouldn't stop recordings, it is an energy saving function and can be switched off in the Services menu, System Setup, Sky+ Setup, Auto Standby, turn to off.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

That "function" (useless that it might be) was applied to ALL Sky boxes in the last set of updates.

No - it will still turn off unless the function is disabled.

I think its set at 4 hours without a remote button press during the day, 2 hours overnight
