Few questions on new white SKY cards

If I got a new white SKY card from someone, am I able to phone SKY up anytime and subscribe using the card?? and for them to apply my details to the card??

also, just in case it happens to be a Freesat from SKY card, is it possible to use the card if I phoned to subscribe to SKY TV and not Freesat??

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

No. Cards aren't transferrable in this way - although a FreesatfromSky Card that has already been activated will subsequently work in any Box. Subs Cards need to be "paired" with a suitable Box ino rder to be able to get Premium stuff (like Sports and Films).

AFAIK, as the FSFS Cards are issued by a separate part of the organisation, they aren't upgradeable to Subs (But I'm not 100% sure about this).

Would it not be easier just to get one in your own name right from the start?
