Gnaman TV has replaced Vectone Tamil on 816.

This is the first of what is likely to be several of the vectone channels to disappear, as they give up their epg slots to other asian services that want to launch but are being delayed due to the ongoing wait for the epg shuffle

The ITV channels will be unveiling their new logos on Monday. The "blocks" that appeared a couple of years ago are being replaced by logos similar to the current ITV4 logo.

Austarlian themed channel DownUnder TV is on course for a summer 2006 launch.

The broadcaster is in negotiations with a number of distributors to air shows such as Neighbours, Home and Away and Cell Block H and is also expected to commission a number of Aussie lifestyle and travel shows.

Both services will go 24 hour next week.

Channel 6 Ireland are refusing to join Sky :

New Irish TV station decides not to go on Sky platform
The new Irish commercial TV station Channel 6 has decided not to broadcast on the Sky Digital satellite platform. The official reason is a disagreement with Sky about its position on the new Electronic Programme Guide. It's thought that Channel 6 wanted to be listed immediately after the other Irish stations - RTE, TV3 and TG4. But Sky offered it a position between 280 and 290, meaning it would be separated from its competitors. However, other sources suggest that NTL and Chorus, who will provide terrestrial delivery of Channel 6 on both analogue and digital platforms, persuaded the station not to go on Sky so as to give their services a competitive boost. NTL and Chorus both have the same perent company, Libery Media. The decision means that Channel 6 will only reach 600,000 homes instead of one million.

Arqiva and European TV Guild offer free TV channel launches. They will provide a channel called New Start TV on Eurobird 1, which will give free access to the airwaves for new ventures
