SKY: Paramount 2 confirmed

Paramount Comedy has confirmed that it is to launch a second channel, Paramount 2, on 1 september.

The channel will not be a standrad +1 service, which many channels now broadcast. Instead it will show programmes at different times - like Sky One Mix does - but bosses said that it might also show its own original programming such as stand-up comedy featuring new British talent.

Paramount 2 will only be available on Sky Digital but bosses said that the channel will eventually come to digital cable, in the same way as the original Paramount Comedy channel, when it was launched in 1995, took several years before it was added to cable networks.
