Just seen a new (for me anyway) menu option in System Setup - 'System Health Check' ?? When selected, it generates a random 4 digit 'incident code' and asks for a PIN (not the same as your normal PIN). V. Odd. Anyone knows what happens with this thing ..... .

No I do not Mark, I noticed it on my Sony recently and came to the conclusion it was something which customer services would ask you to go and enter and would probably feed back system information over pstn for them to analyse, but I may be completely up the spout on that.

Didn't know these STB's were so clever, LOL. If it displays any info onscreen at the user end - I also wonder if someone has published a code list. Have to check ... I'm bored and curious today, hehe. [edit] Just read loads of ramble on DS. First thing that struck me was that the update is months old and that over four pages of ramble, no-one threw any light on what it does exactly. Uuummm. Next. .

Whatever is behind here will help them diagnose the problem. AFAIK theres nothing in there that is useful to the average punter. Its likely to be generated dynamically to stop people tinkering. This is only guesswork - I dont have any special knowledge about the function! Id certainly be intereted as well id anyone gets it open...
