My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

C4 & its family probably in October.

C5 is in an encryption contract until late 2009, although them going fta will depend completely on capacity becoming available on Astra 2D - and its v tight on there atm.

Sky 3 probably never although exactly what will happen when BBC Freesat starts to become popular is anyone guess

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

There was a news story a couple of years ago that $ly were considering making $ly 1 a non-subscription channel. Perhaps they might consider it again making it an FTV channel in order to tie people in to their boxes. $ly are very good at spoiling other people's good ideas.

Just a thought...

It is when you have 3 sly systems & have to swap the card from one to the other...

My System: ADSL 1 Meg., SKY HD (Thomson DSI8215WD), Sky+ 160, TDT (Spanish freeview)

It has been reported on this thread in another forum that the freesat EPG test transmissions are showing a reference to C4 on 2D transponder 42 at 10729V. The EPG entry is not currently linked to a specific transmission (test or copy of C4), but the speculation is that C4 will provide a single C4 feed (i.e. not regionalised or with +1 version) here to allow them to be part of the Freesat launch.

There is very little point in the regional programmes, mainly the news being different, on a sly box you have endless lists of channels that are 95% of the time broadcasting the same stuff BBC1 appears over 15 times

Well my point is that even if all the current C4 and C4+1 feeds remain encrypted this one will hopefully be available to those without viewing cards provided they can pick up that TP.

Remember that the advertising (not BBC I know) is regional too. A medium sized company in Scotland for instance may not want to advertise nationally as they do not offer their goods or services outside of Scotland. Or a large multi national may want to offer special offers in a particular area of the country to shift excess stock.
