My System: Zone1 Dish, DSI8215 SkyHD, Thomson DSI4214, TF5000CI, Dreambox DM800 HD PVR, TM-5200D, Gibertini 104cm, Invacom SNH-031, 36v Actuator, Vbox-II, 42°E to 30°W, Sling Media, Televes H45 Digital Processing Analyser, Satlook Micro+G2 NIT, Rover SDM-1s | Welcome to satellites forum, To receive the Astra 2d UK spot beam (BBC, Channel 4 & ITV), in your region you'll most likely be better off with a 2.4M dish for reliable reception although some areas close by appear to pull this beam in with a smaller dish ie.1.8M North, South and Eurobird beams can be received with a 90cm - 1.2M See coverage map for 2d _http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/astra2d.html

My System: 1.8m PF Dish, most sky and freesat recivers, 80cm on Illusion motor and Dreambox DM7025, TDT | a 1.35 can limit reception of channels at certain times of the day - so you can go for this smaller dish if you can live with not having certain channels (like bc2 and c4) on a 24./7 basis. - as you say "most of the day" - make sure it is not when you will be wanting to watch those channels generally the minimum requirement is a 1,8... in areas around benidorm a 2.4 is recommended,
