Digibox software won't update

Hi, I recently received my Sky Freesat viewing card, but the software on my Panasonic box is too old to accept the card.
I'm in South West England using the standard mini dish, signal quality is showing around 80% and I can view all the FTA channels, however the "transport stream" is showing 07fd instead of 07d4 which is apparently what I should be getting.
When I try to run a force update the receiver sits on the "updating" screen for a bit, but once finished the sw version has not updated.
Sky suggested it could be a dish alignment issue, but I'm a little reluctant to start moving it since I have a reasonable signal quality and it's a rather time consuming operation.
If I take the box to my dad's house (where he has a dish which was aligned by a Sky installer), am I likely to have more success in updating the software, and should I be ok to continue using my dish as it is, without re-aligning it?

My System: 1.25m offset dish for Astra2 28deg., 1.2m dual feed for Astra1 and Hotbird, Thomson Sky HD, Humax HDCI2000, Dragon CAM, Invacom 0.3 twin lnb, Dell Dimension 4400 and Inspiron 1525, 1 meg broadband

Press services, 4 0, 1 select and choose DEFAULT TRANSPONDER from the menu.
It should be 11778, V, 27.5, 2/3. If it isn't change it to this, save settings, and see if the transport stream has changed to 07d4.
regards
D.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't have an option 0 under Services -> System setup. Do I need to get a new box?

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Spectrum analyser.

It is a hidden menu, go to Services, System setup, then press the numbers on the remote - 0, 1, then select (don't look at the options).

My System: Sky Plus V3 TDS 470n, Pace 2600CI, Thomson Sky HD, Technomate 1000D, Prodelin 1.8m dish + Invacom Quad C120, CM feed, Lacuna/Wolsey V3 meter

Sky may be right- it could be a signal problem.
Panasonic Sky boxes usually show a misleading 90% signal even when the quality is only just adequate- a Pace box may only show 20 - 30% on the same signal.

After changing the default transponder it now shows 07d4, however the lock status is "not locked". The signal quality is showing about 90%, I guess this could be the phenomenon that snap described in the last post.
I'll try nudging the dish a bit to see if that helps.

Got a more modern Pace box off a friend and everything's fine now. Showing 80% quality on 07d4.
