Box won´t hold Add Channels

Anyone know what causes a Pace DSN430 to loose any channels added to "other Channels" when the power fails.

Would I be along the right lines thinking its probably a faulty capacitor?

Thanks

My DS430N doesn't lose the "Other Channels", but there is a long history of all sorts of Murdoch Boxes arbitrarily dumping them.

The tendency to do so seems greater when there is pressure on the allocated memory due to having quite a few Other Channels stored plus lots of programme reminders, auto views, series links etc.

Personally, I only have two "Other Channels" stored and don't make much use of the other features that fill up memory, so that might explain why I don't have problems.

Conversely, it is not necessarily the case that your own DS430N actually has an incipient fault.

Do you have lots of ITV Regions stored, plus lots of reminders etc?

No reminders set. If you put one channel in and power down then it disappears. Just really a pain because power cuts can be quite frequent here.

In which event, perhaps there is a specific fault after all.

How much of a problem is it?

Surely, apart from ITV Regions, there isn't much non-EPG stuff to be had these days?

Though I imagine having ITV Regions of all flavours is handy to guard against the ravages of marginal reception?

Should save. Is it running on the latest software although that wouldn't have any effect I wouldn't of thought.

Be suprised Rai when out of UK and out of 2d region, 12402, 12480 etc etc.
