My System: Famaval 2.4m dish, Invacom 0.2dB LNB (single), Pace 430N
Problem with Ch4 etc on 12480V

For some reason I cannot receive these channels at any time of day, but can receive all the other 2A/2B North Beam/s channels. I assume the symbol rate is 27.5, FEC 2/3. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Geoff

May have geoffreys, 2A south beam is 12480 27.5 2/3, sounds suspiciously like someone has a DECT phone either in your residence or near your equipment. Try to switch off the base station and check.

DECT Frquencies are 1880 to 1900 MHz

Hi band problems:-

12480 to 12500 MHz (10600 MHz LO) IF is 1880 to 1900 MHz

Lo band problems:-

11630 to 11650 MHz (9750 MHz LO) IF is 1880 to 1900 MHz

Many Thanks, I think you may be on to the problem:
We have a Mobile Phone Base Station on the same roof, maybe it is that. I'll turn it off and see if we can then get Ch4. If we can then the Mobile Phone Company can find a solution (at their expense!) such a filters or whatever.

Have they allowed people to return to Famagusta yet ?

Problem, cannot turn it off as it has a standby battery built in, if I turn off the mains supply it carries on operating. Job for the Phone Company!
Geoff.

Trouble is, a number of the stations are owned by more than one company, so only part of it may be turned off for maintenance/repairs.

If 12.402 works all night then you are not far off getting 12.480. But as it is at the high end of the frequency range you could lose it from long or cheap cable, old LNB and bad connections or a tweak of the dish, and even an old digibox.
By the way,try 10.891 H 22 5/6 and you will find men and motors

Thanks Zorbas, I'll be having a general sort out of the dish etc, which have been in place 6 years now. Re Men & Motors - cannot receive any 2D channels with my 2.4m dish here in Cyprus, just too small a dish!
