No Signal Since Introdution of NEW TV Guide

Hello All,

I am based in the North of Finland and have a SKY HD box with full channel package.

I have been having problems watching sky since the introduction of the new "Improved" TV guide function last week.

I have to unplug my box during the day (dogs) and when I get home EVERY channel says "No satellite signal is being received"...

I read on here over the weekend it could be due to a software update during the time the box was unplugged. So I followed the suggestion on Saturday to do s "Forced Software Download" by holding down the backup button on the box during startup. It worked on Saturday, but now when I have tried it during the evening after work it can take up to 4 hours until I get a channel to work!!

Any ideas what I can do, and could it be also due to the new cards issue??

More likely its due to the new epg frequency being weak in your location. Have a look in the HD section -m theres at least one thread about it.

Hi,

Thanks for the info... I had a look in the HD section and could not find the thread you mention, any chance you could post a link?

Also when I go into services - signal. It is the same strength & quality as it has been for the past 2 years...

Sorry yes I can see the thread now (i was looking in the wrong HD section first time)...

My SKY seems to be working for now as I went into the services and did the 0,1, select in "Picture", I tried to change transponder setting to 11778 V, it did not work first time, but then I did a system reset and followed this with changing the transponder to 11778 V and now it works..

Many thanks...

The "No signal is being received" rerror on HD boxes after the new software upgrade is due to the fact that there is now an option in the software to configure the box to work on single feed rather than two feeds.
The default setting after the software upgrade is for two feeds, so if there is only one feed going into the box (or one of the feeds is not working) the box gives the "No signal is being received" error.
To correct this, you must go into setup menu by pressing services>001>select, then scroll to the bottom of the screen to the last option and configure the box to use single feed.
