I live in the Shetland Islands which are just 225 miles or so from Norway. We subscribe to Sky and are paying extra for the HD facilities. I was wondering if there was a way to tune in, perhaps via the "other channels facility, to some Norwegian stations. If so, how would I do it and how would I find out the programme frequencies to do so. I am not a technical person so not too much technical stuff please. I guess that, if I can get Norwgian stations, I might get some from other countries also. All suggestions appreciated! | ||

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me. | No Norwegian stuff on the Satellites used for Sky (Astra 2 and Eurobird 1 at 28E nominal) You'd need a system capable of receiving Thor at 1W and/or Sirius at 5E. A Sky Box is useless away from 28E. So it's a whole new set up, I'm afraid ................ Very little is available Free To Air, so you'd need to Subscribe to a package such as Canal Digital Norway. | ||

Nor me. | Other Channels gives you access to very little indeed - a few more ITV Regions and that's about your lot. | ||
