I have bought some of these and had a chance to play them. I put 200m of fibre on the LNB, connected to a 60cm dish, no problem at all. Very easy to connect up too. Works a treat.
Costs are well over £100 for the LNB itself plus the same for the virtual quads or quattros. Fibre costs in the region of a quid a metre or less.
A notable absense at present is an LNB with a C120 flange, though I believe that I read somewhere that they would be available sometime.
Of course these won't improve anything for a properly setup system for 'fringe reception'. If the signal isn't coming from the dish, it won't make it better. But to overcome long cable run losses, excellent, as there is no in-line amps required in the coax. |
