do u need the same size dish to get Astra 2B north beam and Astra 2D?
I live in the south of Italy and since i lost Channel five, im wondering if I need the same size dish that you need for Astra 2D to be able to get Channel Five back
Thank you
Tony

If you do, it’s just chance.

The two footprints are quite different, and in most areas 2B North will be stronger than 2D. Unless you are in a southern 2D sidelobe in which case 2D should be a lot stronger than 2B North.

Where you are I imagine they are both quite week, but I expect 2B North to be stronger.

Have you looked at the 2D reception survey

http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/...ead.php?t=471ç

and the 2D reception website http://www.astra2d.co.uk/

you may find reports there of people in your area, and what dish sizes are needed for 2D and 2B North.

Hi denis,
For the moment I still have a 1.5 mt dish, I am able to get all Astra 2A ( north and south beams), Astra 2B ( only south beam ) and of course no Astra 2D and Astra 2B north beam. so i was wondering if i can get Astra 2B north beam with a dish size smaller then the one you need for Astra 2D.
cause i dont think i will be able to buy a 3mt dish size for receiving Astra 2D but i was thinking to get a 2mt dish to be able to get Astra 2B north and its channels like Channel Five or premiership plus and so on..
Thank u so much fr youe help
Tony
