Missing Channels Amstrad DRX550

I swapped out my ancient Pace box for the Amstrad which I bought as a refurb off of Fleabay. After realising that I needed to buy a revision 8 remote control it worked far better than it did out of the box.

I have a few missing channels such as Sky One and some Animal Planet stuff
Jut get satellite signal is not being received error 38 on these channels though everything else is fine.

Never had a problem picking these channels up before and wondered what I should try as the first course of action.

Thanks

My System: 3.1m Famaval on 28.2, 1.5m offset on 19.2e, 13e & 7e all mixed in a spaghetti of wires and going into a dream thingy.

What EPG software version is it? Have you tried a cold reboot (pull the mains for a min)?

Cheers

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

I always have a problem with the word refurbished, when used in describing second hand satellite receivers.

In some cases it either means that the box has had a specific fault repaired, but probably in most cases, it means that the box has been wiped down with a damp cloth and perhaps a new remote provided.

If the latter is the case, then potentially all the inherent faults with some of these boxes are just around the corner.
