Sky+ TDS470N ´- How can I check the model No.?

Hi!

I've just bought what was as advertised as a TDS470N from Ebay, but looking at the back of the box there are no TDS470N labels.

If you have a TDS470N, can you check the System details screen and see if the model number looks anything like mine

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Have edited out your box serial and card number, not a good idea to publicise these when you are using a box outside the UK.

PS. Is there not a label underneath the box?

My System: Sky Digibox - Pace 2600 C1 Sky HD box - Thomson 1.8m Channel Master QDF-031 Quad LNB 0.3dB C120 CM Feedhorn

Hi!

Thanks Rolf for fixing the picture, but I'm pretty sure now that my new box is not a TDS470N, since when I connect my old 2600CI I get BBC and ITV channels that I'm not getting with this Sky+ box (I live in Sweden)!

The number on the back is DSI 8210CS which I assume is the Model number. Are these known to be bad for fringe reception?

Cheers,

Martin

Sounds like it's a Thomson box, my sky Digibox is a DSI-4212, and looking at your model it has "DSI" aswell, so very likely to be Thomson and not Pace...

I think your car looks funny too......

My System: Famaval 3,1, IP9000HD plus other FTA and Linux boxes - Astra 1&2, Hotbird, Hispasat

This box is a Thomson DSI8210CS 3rd generation Sky Plus box. It has a 160Gb hard disk - 80Gb for normal recording and playback and 80Gb for Sky anytime.

They are not a very sensitive box - for Sky Plus the best box is the Pace 3100.

What does the first line tell you (see your own attached photo)?
It say's Thomson which kind off gives it away. The TDS470N is a Pace model ID so No It's not a PACE.

I would send the box back to the seller as the Thomson boxes are not half as good as the PACE models.
