Sky HD boxes

Do sky HD boxes work without buying the sky HD sub as was thinking of getting one just for BBC/ITV etc as here in Tenerife you need the big dish to receive them on a normal box and obviously the HD channels you can get on a smaller dish.
Or is there any other HD box that could get me these channels without a sub.
Thanks.

Have you tried a FreeSatHD box on those channels that interest you ?

So, what size dish do you have, and what do you think you can install without the neighbours complaining ?

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

If you can't get 2D then it won't matter which HD box you have as they both rely on the same signal.
